We are looking for an enthusiastic coordinator to join the marketing team in Ottawa. Your role will be to help increase the company’s external communication with existing/potential customers, plan industry events and build positive brand exposure.

What we’re looking for

The ideal candidate is a professional with a passion for marketing and 2-5 years of relevant experience, as well as:

  • An analytical mindset and a hunger to continually improve the company’s output
  • Experience with marketing email & social media tools such as Mailchimp, Constant Contact, Hootsuite, Hubspot, etc.
  • Experience using Adobe Creative Suite (specifically Photoshop, Illustrator & Indesign)
  • Knowledge of layout and design principles
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong writing skills

The following additional characteristics would be considered an asset:

  • Post-secondary education in marketing, communications or relevant field
  • Experience working with an enterprise CRM (Hubspot, Salesforce, Sugar, etc)
  • Financial market knowledge and interest
  • Fluency in French, Chinese or other languages

What you’ll do:

  • Maintain & report on the company’s websites and social media profiles: Maintain an active stream of engaging and SEO-friendly content on the company’s various websites and social channels (Linkedin, Facebook, Wechat, Instagram & Twitter). Provide updates on audience growth, referral traffic, share of voice, new opportunities and potential improvements.
  • Create & update marketing materials: Design layouts for new print and web collateral, help draft content, and coordinate required printing and translations.
  • Customer communication: Assist with drafting email campaigns to customers to invite them to events, inform them of product improvements and make them aware of new, suitable solutions.
  • Coordinating event logistics for the company’s various events throughout the year such as the Online Broker Summit, Executive Roundtables and tradeshows.  Tasks include menu selection, organizing agenda, collecting speaker profiles, booking booths, updating artwork, printing brochures and registering attendees.
  • Maintain an organized/detailed CRM that allows for detailed segmentation so we can send the right messages to the right contacts.

We’re looking for a User Experience Designer to join the UX and Product Team. You will be an integral member of a dynamic multi-disciplinary team responsible for creating web applications and related products that help online brokers engage their account holders in a positive investing experience.

What is needed to succeed?

You will help the organization during its shift to user-centric design of its existing product portfolio, and expansion to new product lines as well. Most of your time will be spent on the creative front end of understanding investor/trader challenges and product strategy, and iteratively designing engaging UI solutions to execute the product roadmap. You have high standards for usability and a penchant for innovation!

As part of the product management team, you will interact with online brokers and self-directed investors; you will collaborate with marketing and sales; you will work with back-end engineers and you will work closely with front-end web developers to transform concepts to wireframes to design to production.

Being a self-motivated, well-organized individual with a commitment to quality and an exceptional eye for aesthetic detail gives you the ability to communicate the required user experience and to help ensure our products go out with their best foot forward.

Required experience:

  • Experienced with user centered design for complex software solutions, including exposure to web and mobility
  • Ability to create product wireframes, to transform to complete/styled designs that developers can implement, and to do some light prototyping e.g. with HTML/CSS
  • Resourcefulness and talent to produce graphic elements.
  • University degree in UX, design, fine art, industrial design or related is preferred.
  • Strong design portfolio for web application design, preferably with mobile, app, touchscreen experience as well.
  • Strong teamwork and collaborative abilities.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of multiple technical areas, in particular, internet-related technologies and design patterns.

Job Duties:
